About Us
Irish Association Of Self Builders was launched in August 2003 by a team of volunteer self builders who themselves had struggled to understand the process of a self build for their own houses.
It was our decision to come up with a website that would help self builders with this process by making sure that almost everything is explained in a simple way. We wanted to show them the options available for every stage of their project, from start to the finish.
Since its launch on 1st Of January 2004, Iaosb.Com has become the largest construction web site in Ireland for building a house. It has constantly been ranked number one with all major search engines in the world for “building a house in Ireland” or similar phrases.
We have become a recognised organisation throughout the industry and have been featured in the national newspapers like Irish Independent, Sunday Tribune as well as many publications like Build your House and Home 2007 & 2008 and more. We are ranked in the top 10 in the world by Alexa for the most visited and most popular website for DIY.
With currently over 2000 members worldwide and thousands of visitors every month, Irish Association Of Self Builders web site has managed to serve its purpose that it was designed for back in 2003, and for that we thank all our visitors, members, the national media, and companies and professional trades that have given us their support in the past and we look forward to being able to carry on extending and providing more information and help for the future.
