Project Of The Month

Tree Seat:

A tree seat is an ideal project to give you further sitting area in your garden. Obviously having a decent size tree in your garden would help with your project, however if you have not got a big tree, other options are available like a new tree or a water feature or maybe a flower garden in the middle.

Instructions:

All you need is:

  • 1 length of 3 x 3 inch to act as the legs
  • 1 or 2 lengths of 2x2 inch to act as supports for planking
  • As many length’s of 3 x 1 to act as the battens. The amount depends on how large your project would be.

Cut the legs to the required height and point them so that they can go into the ground.

  1. Join the side battens to the legs.
  2. Connect the supporting planks.
  3. Connect the top battens ensuring that you overlap slightly to let the water float away.
  4. Finish with a one or two coats of preservative or high quality wood stain.
