Well congratulation, you are almost finished you just have to pack every thing and move into your new home.
You have two choices as far as moving, do every thing yourself or hire a professional moving company.
The cheaper option would obviously be to move yourself. You can either do this by hiring a van or asking a friend with a van to give you a hand. This is also the time that you need to call all your favours in from all the friends and family to come and give you a hand.
There are a few things that you have to remember:
Make sure that your insurance policy covers you for the move and against any liabilities.
Get lots of boxes and right on them which rooms they are suppose to be going to.
If there is anything that you are not going to be needing in the future, this is the best time to get rid of it, after all you do not want to clutter your new home with old junk.
Wrap all breakable stuff in proper bubble wrap.
If you are picking up boxes always make sure that you are picking up with your knee’s and not your back. It’s no point giving yourself a bad back for the rest of your life because you did not pay enough attention. If you have to carry something heavy, try and get a trolly to help you with the moving.
Always try and get the transportation as close to the pick up point as possible, there is no point carrying heavy things more distance than you need.
After you are all loaded up, have a final look to make sure that you have not left anything behind.
On your journey to your new home, do take your time. It is not a race and you do not want to damage anything.
At the arrival to your new home, take the boxes straight to all the rooms they are suppose to be going. You do not want to block the passage and cause yourself more problems later.
Unpack and dispose of the boxes and the packages the green way.
Good Luck and all the best in your new home.
It is advisable that you should get a professional moving company, again this is an area that you have to do your shopping around for the best prices as they can vary by a few hundred Euro’s.
There are still a few points to consider:
First of all make sure that they are fully insured against any breakage’s and public liability.
Do look at the insurance policy to make sure that it is still valid
Agree the price and do a contract pointing out exactly what is required of them.
Make sure they understand the time and the date they are suppose to be there and confirm it the day before.
Make sure that they have full directions of the new property and if possible ask them to follow you there.
At arrival do give direction to where the boxes are suppose to be going to.
Check everything you can and make sure that their insurance covers you for the things that are broken in the boxes you have not checked yet.
